ABOUT ME

Tara has a Masters in Education from Queens College, and her teaching certification in Grades 1-6. She has been teaching in Brooklyn, Queens, and Long Island for 12 years. She also has taught music, drama, and songwriting.

She is a singer/songwriter and musician. She has been playing bass and singing in the band Iridesense for over 25 years. Some of Iridesense's music is licensed to Nickelodeon, and was used in shows like Zoey 101 and Drake and Josh. Her song One Heart was released on Peace Day of 2016. She knew that the message was important. David Caggiano produced it, and Rob Viccari played guitar on it. Her family members like her brother, daughter, and nephews even sang on the chorus.

In the fall of 2016, she collaborated on a children's play called Halloween Rules. The play was written by Laura Marotta, and the music was written by Tara, Sean Llewellyn, and Rob Viccari.

In May of 2018, she released her first book. She hoped her song/book could help educate and inspire her students. One Heart the book was Tara's first time self publishing. The book was illustrated by Nancy Noskewicz.

The song Red Rock Road was written and recorded by her children's band The Gum Drops in August of 2019. She plays in the band with her friend Ivette Torres-Albano who is also a teacher and musician.

In December of 2020, Red Rock Road was released as a book. The book was illustrated by Soumya Basnet.

Tara wants to create more books for children. Her next book will be based a lullaby called Starlight. The song is already recorded and the book will be released sometime in the spring of 2021.
